Ballyhoo, a Toronto-based indoor-marketing firm, pleads its case in this brief, well-written article on indoor promotion. That kind of promotion reaches the ‘important people’ – the so-called Active Demographic who makes spontaneous decisions about what to do and where to go. Worth a mention: their description of the ‘urban shut-in’ who stays at home and unhelpfully avoids consuming indoor media.

POPAI is an international trade association for marketing at-retail. Their site contains a library of free and for-pay articles, audio, video, forms and books, which you can only access by registering (for free). The most intriguing part of the site, the Creative Gallery, looks as if it is meant to provide POP and POS marketing examples, but it is not currently working. Keep this site bookmarked for when the gallery reopens.
